• Responsible Individual for the development, fabrication, installation, and documentation of show set elements and exhibits for the some of the world’s largest theme parks and attractions.

• Receives scope documents and creative intent from client then oversees the shop drawings, engineering and approval process while also developing the production and installation schedules.

• Manages the fabrication process of all show set elements including material purchasing, sequencing, quality control, and ensures all required inspections are completed for both our internal production team and any subcontractors. 

• Maintains financial aspects for all projects including budget to actuals, billing projections, monthly billings, and placeholders as well as developing and tracking all contract directives and change orders.

• Works with General Contractors, inspectors, vendors, and clients to keep installations moving on a daily basis while keeping an eye on the upcoming milestones.  Coordinates the labor, equipment rentals, and deliveries for all project installations.

• Builds cohesiveness and fosters an environment of collaboration through personal interactions to encourage the entire team to identify potential problems and suggest solutions.  

• Uses in-depth knowledge of the materials, technologies, and fabrication methods to inform the production process so that both the creative intent and technical requirements are both achieved. 

• Managed and art directed the installation of custom rockwork integrated with scenic elements and area development.

Senior Project Manager  (08/15 - 12/18)

• In addition to all elements listed above, developed and conceptualized custom LED and fiber optic lighting elements, scale models, historic replicas, interactive exhibits, projections, and special effects that have been integrated with both ride and facility.

• Provided fabrication R&D and feasibility studies for client supplied concepts. 

• Contributed two show packages and numerous additional elements for the winner of the 2018 THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement – Theme Park Area Development for Pandora – The World of Avatar, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, USA. 

 

DIgital Worlds Institute – University of Florida

Director of Operations  (08/14 – 08/15)

• Oversaw the daily operation and expansion of the digital arts department including two interactive classrooms with live online components, a multi-screen projection theater, motion-capture and green screen studio, and live event streaming.

• Managed the development of an interactive gaming experience, “Exploring Ancient Egypt” for the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium to supplement the traveling exhibit: Afterlife: Tombs and Treasures of Ancient Egypt.

Exhibit Design and Fabrication, Home Remodeling (12/12 – 08/14)

• Fabricated exhibit pieces for museums in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Texas. 

• Consulted for several attractions and theme parks on event design and management.  

• Completed full home renovation and flip that netted a 6-figure profit as well as several other kitchen and bath remodels.

• Held several roles with increasing responsibility that directly contributed to a 317% increase in average annual attendance and net revenue over $25 million that was reinvested into the preservation and restoration of the famous National Historic Landmark in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

• Creative department supervisor, responsible for guiding all creative projects from initial concept through installation including exhibits, theatrical experiences, signage, and events.

• Created 3D models, renderings, construction documents, and financial estimates for all projects.

• Developed and maintained a $2 million annual operating budget and production schedules for all ongoing work. Worked with the accounting department to oversee yearly budget management and financial documentation.

• Hired and supervised outside contractors and vendors as well as an internal construction crew. 

• Teamed with architects, engineers, and inspectors to ensure public safety and compliance with current building codes at the 189-year-old abandoned correctional facility.

• Appointed as the General Manager for the museum’s primary fund-raising event overseeing all operations and a staff of 250 employees.  The event, Terror Behind the Walls, is attended by over 100,000 visitors each October and is widely considered one of the best attractions in the country similar to Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights.

• Worked with HR department to assist with employee hiring, retention, and management. 

• Represented the organization at national conferences and was a sought-after presenter on numerous topics related to the operation of successful attractions.

 

TCB Displays, Inc.

Lead Exhibit Designer  (10/01 - 3/04)

• Created award-winning modular and custom trade show displays, museum exhibits, graphics, corporate lobbies, and retail interiors.  Developed estimates and construction documents for all projects.

• Worked with clients from initial meeting through post-show follow up to ensure excellent service.

• Designed modular and custom exhibits for the national trade show production company.
